Go to http://www.kickstarter.com and search White Buffalo and you will see the compelling trailer to this docu-drama being filmed–to spread native wisdom for these times to the larger population–to awaken us to the opportunities for healing race relations, genocidal memories, and to join together in an upsurge of compassionate action to each other and the planet. Now’s the time. A new shaman friend of mine claims that yesterday on the beach in Va. Beach, she was told that all beings coming to earth to help with our ascension have landed. Let’s tune in to them and each other–let’s prepare for a NEW WAY!
Several weeks ago, my dear friend Ethan Marten (director/producer of upcoming film White Buffalo: An American Prophecy 2012) and I felt inspired to start a Facebook movement, Conscious Acts of Kindness. Each of us can contribute to the well-being of the planet by committing several of these every week. Log into Facebook and let us know whaat you’re doing, and the response you’re getting. We can inspire each other and turn the tide world-wide of fear and mistrust of others into kindness. Join us!
Remember the movement in the ’80’s, “Do random acts of kindness?” My Kindred Spirit friend Ethan Marten and I have just co-birthed (and resurrected) it as “Conscious Acts of Kindness” on FACEBOOK. It’s time to join together across the world doing kind acts with clear intention and deep compassion. We’ll be in excellent company with the Dalai Lama who has proclaimed that his only religion is kindness! Then write on our Facebook Wall to tell us what you’re doing and what a difference it’s making–share the joy!
My first blog in a series for A.R.E. is up! See the Blog page. I’m so excited to be on the journey for Native wisdom from the elders about 2012 with visionary filmmakers Ethan and Richard Marten! I’ll be blogging for A.R.E. every two weeks or so, so stay tuned in. I’ll be sharing here as well. So many wonderful people are being drawn together to support each other and the planet as we enter a new phase (hopefully) of human consciousness–the amazing human family to which we all belong, and we can include all sentient beings (Buddhists say) or “All our relatives” (Lakota include the Star nation, Thunder Nation, Standing People (trees–I love that!), etc. Mitakuye oyasin!
Last night, I heard Michael perform at the Jewish Mother. I had met him earlier, and listened to him on his website michaelbucher.com, but that didn’t prepare me for the force and heart-felt power of his lyrics and guitar. As he tells stories of the Cherokee Trail of Tears, or the high rate of teen suicide in “Indian Country”, or the inspiring “Believe” that won the Native American Music Award last year, you will be inspired and moved to action and prayer for our Native brothers and sisters. Check him out!
Come hear Native journalist Vincent Schilling and Native Grammy award winner Michael Shufer at the A.R.E. Sat. June 26 from noon-2 p.m. $7. Vincent is a personal friend who is dedicated to raising awareness about our Native brothers and sisters: the tough issues they face, the first they bring to our culture, etc. Hope to see you there!
O brave new world…that has such technology in it! My dear friend & filmmaker Ethan Marten (whitebuffalomovie.com) has got me on Twitter. My two sweet daughters have signed me up on this blog. I’m ready to get out my life affirming message to you–embrace your worth! Relish your idiosynchrosies, give out with your gifts, tickle your talents til you’re itching to share them. Make your world a happier place because you’re cherishing YOU!
